What is this POLITICAL Garbage doing in my email and on your website ? I see to much of that elsewhere. I'm looking for the gruesome, funny, weird stories.

Joe Daddy check out the Darwin Awards Podcast https://www.audible.com/es_US/podcast/The-Darwin-Awards/ for the light, fluffy gruesome you seek. However, the Earth System itself is in a MASS F'ING EXTINCTION and losing capacity to support mammalian life. Uf that isn't gruesome, weird, and funny enough for you, you need a new brain. Maybe A.I. can help you?

Improved energy efficiency and the transition to renewable energy are essential but won't end the climate crisis and certainly not the broader and more daunting ecological crisis. We are so eager for our civilizational Darwin Award that we refuse to abate climate change by cutting energy consumption. In fact, we are insanely confident we can consume our way out of the existential global mess we've made. For us, the problem is the solution. According to Statista "Global energy consumption has increased dramatically in recent years and is projected to continue to increase. By 2050 renewable energy consumption is expected to increase and will reach about 247 exajoules. In comparison, the total renewable energy consumption totaled 42 exajoules in 2000."

Dear Tony, Thank you for your comment. I decided to inform people about the facts I see before me, in a daily blog. I am doing this, because we each need to do our part to break through the walls of misinformation and disinformation regarding the predicament.

I closely follow science journal news on these topics, and similar topics. A silencing effort entrenched for many years, has stymied public knowledge of the rapidly bloating predicament. Fake 'experts' in reviews downplay basic research, such as a Stripe Credit Card processing company who employs Dr Zeke Hausfather.

Dr Hausf. and others push an unsupported claim, or dogma, that "Accurately stating facts will cause people to lose hope and do nothing." There are no studies that demonstrate that dogma, yet it constantly thwarts people trying to accurately report science news -- the pretext is ridiculous, yet persists.

Because people lack information from the trusted news media, of course, inaction follows. The research papers are all but ignored. When they are reported, first the research is watered down in a journal summary, citing very random people like Zeke and other skeptics who pooh-pooh tne results. Then, news media bases a skimpy report on that summary. Then the headline is constructed by a team of monkeys on typewriters. All this obscures the facts about reality.

My intention is to offer fact based news, on a wide variety of important topics, because I do read the primary science sources, and do watch the primary videos, and have more information that most humans.

I have the time to read and understand thanks to the success of the Darwin Awards website and books. The Darwin Awards project eventually gave me free time to pursue information. Each of us see only part of the intractable dilemma. Therefore, I am engaged in a new series of daily blogs, to gradually convey the complex multifaceted view I have of this nightmarish point in time. I do hope to grow an audience.

If you wish to join me on a Saturday Zoom 5pm PST the link is beneath the Substack posts.

Thanks again for your comment. Yes, the predicament is likely intractable. Yes, suddenly the US Federal Govt is suddenly making haste to change our grid to electric. I like to see signs that we are rowing backwards trying not to go over the waterfall.

Best wishes, Wendy Darwin

Thanks for this, Wendy. You are obviously a diligent, insightful person with super writing skills. I tried to join your Zoom meeting last night but was told I needed a "commercial" account. Anyway, as an early to bed, early to rise person on the East Coast, it's a tad late for me in any case. Cheers, Tony

Hi Tony, put it on your reminder for next week, and I'll change the settings so a Zoom account is not needed. By the way, Representative Jamie Raskin and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse just made a referral to the DOJ for the Oil Industry for deceiving everyone about the dangers of fossil energy methane emissions. It's cool, modeled after congress finally cornered the lying Cigarette Industry. I'm sorry oyu could not get into the zoom. I have changed the settings now, and you should be able to register and attend this Saturday. Looking forward to meeting you!
